Monsignor Raymond Murray gave a brief biographical sketch of the Cardinal and of his historical and academic interests.
Michael McKeown launched the new fundraising initiative, Cairde Uí Fhiaich (Friends of the Cardinal Ó Fiaich Memorial Library and Archive).
Éamann Martin, Coadjutor Archbishop of Armagh, pledged his full support to the new venture and spoke of his acquaintance with the Cardinal as a student in Maynooth.
There was a contribution by Danny Murphy in relation to the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) minute books from various Ulster counties.
Seán Mac Labhraí gave details of the collection of Gaelic manuscripts which have been returned to Leabharlann Uí Fhiaich from St Patrick’s Library Maynooth.
