St Mary's is delighted to congratulate our final year student teacher, Justin McMahon (formerly of Omagh CBGS), who had an outstanding performance on the Tyrone team which won the Sam Maguire Cup at Croke Park Dublin in front of 82,000 people on Sunday 21 September.
The St Mary's connection with Tyrone doesn't stop with Justin however. The College's GAA Development officer Ryan Mellon was also on the winning team and scored an inspirational point in the 37th minute. Add to that the contribution of our former students Joe McMahon, Davy Harte and our former player Stephen O'Neill who studied at Stranmillis College. Ciaran Gourley missed out on playing in the final but has been a regular on the team throughout this season. And to round it all off the Tyrone manager, Mickey Harte, is a former College student as well.
Congratulations to Tyrone on their magnificent achievement.
