St Mary’s University College recently hosted a group of teachers from eight countries across the European Union as part of an Erasmus Plus project managed by St Colman's Primary School.

Under the title Bridging the Generations: Timeless Games and Toys a debate was held on the motion: “Traditional games are more important and effective in emotional development of children than digital games.”

After a long discussion of the pros and cons, the consensus was that there should be a careful balance of both traditional and digital games for children's development in a digital world.

Professor Peter Finn, principal of St Mary's, opened the event and commented that the day was a celebration of international partnership and part of the College's long history as an institution that has hosted thousands of students, staff and teachers from across Europe since first participating in the Erasmus programme in 1994.
