The Critical Media Literacy Project for 2021 was launched this week to coincide with schoolchildren returning to the classroom after their Easter break.

St Mary’s Chair of the Literacy Course Team, Dr Donna Hazzard, revised the teacher resource booklet for 2021, which every teacher receives who takes part in the Young Newsreaders Project. With nearly 9,000 pupils participating last year, the project aims to improve literacy levels for KS2 pupils at primary school and KS3 pupils at post-primary level.
