Job Search

It doesn’t matter how strong or weak the economy, job-hunting is still a demanding task. But remember that even during times of recession the picture can change on a weekly basis. Normally the average job search can take up to 3 months so it’s even more important than ever to start looking for jobs now.

Information about employers

Increasingly most of the information you require about employers is located on the Internet. There are also employer files and directories in the Career Information Room. Network with friends and relatives. Contact professional organisations for useful careers and vacancy information.
Recruitment may be all year round but many of the major employers target finalists between October and Christmas. The Accountancy Milk Round, for example, takes place in October.
